Chakras
Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning wheel, or vortex, and it refers to each of the seven energy centers of which our energy system is made up of. Where 2 or more channels of subtle energy meet there is a vortex or charka. There are 7 main chakras of the body which mirror both health and spiritual state and evrything we do, feel or experience can be divided within these 7 chakras.
These chakras, or energy centers regulate the flow of energy through our energy system and also they have an affect on decisions we make and how we choose to deal with them in our lives. Chakras are not physical; they are aspects of our consciousness in the same way that the auras are circumstances of our consciousness. The chakras are more dense than the auras, but not as dense as our physical body. They interact with the physical body through the endocrine system and the nervous system. Each of the seven chakras is associated with one of the seven endocrine glands, and also with a group of nerves called a plexus. Therefore each chakra is also associated with a part of the body and particular functions within the body controlled by that plexus or that endocrine gland Please see the chart below which describes the charkas and their associated endocrine glands and body parts.
Today the main chakras correspond to the seven rainbow colours and this is where the use of crystals for healing and balancing the chakras to clear any blockages works very well. The goal is to return each chakra to its optimum working state and in harmony with the other energy systems. Crystals the same colour as a chakra will enhance its natural qualities, for simple chakra balancing place a crystal of the appropriate colour on each chakra for a few moments. Tumbled stones are easier to use for this exercise.
